Before You Start

• Right country. Every Starbucks card works only in the country it was issued for. Check the product name in your order:

• United States (USD): the Starbucks app or starbucks.com
• Germany (EUR): the Starbucks app for Germany or starbucks.de
• Mexico (MXN): the Starbucks México app or starbucks.com.mx
• China (CNY): the Starbucks China app, valid in mainland China only (not Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan)

• Have both codes ready. You need the card number and the security code. Copy them exactly as shown in your order.

How to Add It in the Starbucks App

1. Install the Starbucks app for the card’s country and sign in, or create a free account.
2. Open the cards or payment section and choose to add a Starbucks card.
3. Enter the card number and the security code.
4. The card and its balance now show in the app.

How to Pay With It

1. At the counter, open the card in the app and let the barista scan the barcode.
2. Or place a mobile order in the app and choose the card as the payment method.
3. The amount comes off the balance. Anything left stays on the card for your next visit.

Common Problems

• Card not accepted. The app or website belongs to a different country than the card. For example, a US card won’t add to a German or Mexican account.
• Security code rejected. Type it again without spaces and double-check characters that look alike.
• Balance not showing. Refresh the app, or sign out and back in.
